A fantastic little National T-46 portable transistor radio, made in Japan by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. Dating to the 1960s, it has a wonderfully period look with a pale sage green case, chrome trim, perforated metal speaker grille and compact rectangular silhouette.
The radio is marked “2-Band 8-Transistor” and features both AM and shortwave bands, with tuning controls along the top and side. A great decorative piece for a mid-century interior, vintage electronics collection or film, television, photography or styling prop.
