A small but beautifully considered studio pottery vase, signed and dated 1981 on the base.
Canadian Artist Joseph Panacci.
Its rounded form is finished in a layered glaze that moves from warm, glossy brown at the base to creamy white above, with delicate hand-painted stems and leaves in deep blue and soft rust.
The subtly flared, four-point opening gives the piece a sculptural quality while remaining perfectly sized for a single bloom, a few clipped branches, or simply displayed on its own. An intimate piece of handmade pottery with the quiet character and earthy palette associated with late-20th-century studio ceramics.
Dimensions
Approximately 4” W × 4” H
Condition
Good vintage condition with minor variations and irregularities inherent to handmade pottery. Signed and dated on the underside.
Pickup: Downtown Toronto, at Adelaide & Sherbourne.
